Sounds From The Past

Have you ever heard a song that sounded hauntingly familiar? I have, Claude Debussy's Prelude to "Afternoon of A Faun ". I heard this song nearly seven years ago while taking a music history class. The first time I heard it I got chills and was in a somber mood the rest of the day. I still couldn't help but want to hear it over and over and so I did. I wasn't a big fan of classical music but now I was hooked. I listened to a wide range of music from Shostakovich to Duke Ellington. Then it happened again when I came across Shostakovich and his symphony #5. I know the music in #5 may provoke many feelings but I was truly haunted by this one it gave me an eerie feeling I just couldn't shake. I didn't listen to it very often.

And so today I was looking up information about the characters and actors from the Twilight saga.I swore I would never read the books or watch the movies, the hype from it all made me a little rebellious.(I'm just funny that way) Besides to me it seemed as if it was appealing to a younger group than I and so it was out. Funny how things change I'm so glad I'm into the series! I highly recommend it to anyone holding out. Any how while searching I came across the soundtrack for Twilight and saw Debussy's "Clair de Lune" listed. So I listened and yet again I'm here and I'm not. Romantic sounds from long ago and I'm day dreaming all day about far away places. Do some songs make everyone feel that way sometimes? I like lots of different music but none can evoke such strong feelings in me. Oh well; "Clair de Lune" has drifted far off, the baby crying, dinner burning and brothers fighting have my undivided attention for now. But I'll keep listening, you never know what the next song might bring.

I loved what you wrote. Great thoughts and isn't it nice to just get away some days even if it's only a dream? Good Job
Happy Birthday today Too!
Nice touch with the music and we all know who helped with that, and
I can't even get my pictures straightened out yet!
