A Special Tribute to Moms Everywhere!
Before I became a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I became a Mom
I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.
Before I became a Mom
I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts. I slept all night.
Before I became a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I became a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life
so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I became a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I became a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
Before I became a Mom
I never had to worry that the teen ager I was once could also be the teen ager I am raising today. I never thought my daughter would be kissing boys just like I did. I never thought I would have to worry that the little boy who loved only me, now loves another woman.
Please listen to the songs I've chosen. I hope I've chosen wisely.
I want the mother's of the world to understand how wonderful, and truly cherished they are by all! I would love to share my appreciation of my mother with the rest of the world. Each mother will understand where this comes from and know that they have been here too! Every mother will hopefully cherish every moment we share with our children and all they have given us with their innocence and love.

Before I became a Mom
I never thought I’d have to let my children go off to college without me there to protect them. I never thought I would have to see them only to return so I could do their laundry. I never thought I’d have to watch them get married knowing that they now love someone more than me.

I never thought I’d have to see my children go through the same struggles as I did. I never thought I’d have to see my sons work so hard. I never thought I’d have to see my daughter go through the pains of childbearing.

I never thought I would have to worry about little ones again and then I became a Grandmother and the worries started all over again!
I never thought I would have to worry about little ones again and then I became a Grandmother and the worries started all over again!
But when all is said and done, I was never so happy as to be a mom, a grandmother, or even great grandmother for some of you, because it is the one thing that came with the best of all prizes, and that was LOVE.
